What's a hostel without a Princess?

Princess is actually the name of the brand for my classic sandwich grill.Haha.The motto is actually: What's a home without a Princess?Changes need to be done to suit a student lifestyle...

I made a promise to my college mates that I'll bring something that we can cook on...or more to grill on...

So what i did was....I asked my dad whether I can take back to my hostel the classic sandwich grill that he bought last year.Although it was with us for a long time, the grill has only been used not more that 3 times...then he said...Of course!!!Btw my mother doesn't like to use it due to the fact that the grill is too small and the food cooked on it is "too" healthy..haha....no oil is required...so yeah...

So this time i returned to the hostel not empty handed...I have something to show off....as if..But this time atleast i can save some money on my food expenses. As you know, the cost of living in Damansara is expensive...especially for a student like me...EXTREMELY pricey...
The date 3rd February 2009,was the first time i ever cooked in my hostel...Not in my room to be exact..It was Shikin's.

Going Back into Roald Dahl's life...

Analysis of the novel BOY: Tales of Childhood

Students were required to act out a scene from the novel that expresses the most impressionable incident in a child's life.

First of all, let me enlighten u guys with the review on this novel.

Boy : Tales of Childhood written by Roald Dahl portrays the life of himself from the time he was a boy until the day he gained his first job. The story revolves through the ups and downs in his early days and mainly focuses on the viciousness of the education system at that time. Vindictive punishment such as caning is an example of the brutality of the previous education system which on Roald's view had caused mental and psychological problems to the students. Not forgetting to mention the humiliation that the victim has to face. Nevertheless, the novel also tells us numerous hilarious and interesting stories of Roald's childhood and his teenage years. For example like the time when Roald came up with the idea of THE GREAT MOUSE PLOT to take revenge on the nasty Mrs Pratchett and the part that Roald played a prank on his half-sister's fiancee by putting goats dropping into the pipe he was using.Very amusing. There are also devastating and dramatic part that are illustrated in the novel.

Now...back to the drama..

The part where Roald and his friends were given a few cane strokes by their Headmaster, Mr Coombes for their GREAT MOUSE PLOT on MRS PRATCHETT, was chosen by us: Ieyna, Arlena,Rumitha,Shikin and I for our drama presentation.

Steps taken in making this drama a success..

1. Preparation of the script by our own scriptwriter, Arlena...

2. Finding the right props for the act : Cane, Tie, Old Granny glasses, name tag....and much more

3. Rehearsal two hours before English class started.

4. The moment of truth...

Characters
Nabil : Mrs Pratchett
Rumitha : Mr Coombes
Ieyna : Thwaites
Arlena : Roald Dahl
Shikin : Extras ( Deputy Headmaster and Form teacher)

My fingernails were coloured black with a crayon...Must get into the character of Mrs Pratchett who had dirty disgusting fingernails...yes...

Actor in making...as if..

Ng!!Keep ur finger off!!!

I was trying to give the evil-wicked-malevolence old woman look..

I have also included the scripts down here.....Spare some time to read it if you would like to know what our act was all about...

Scene 1

Scene 2

Scene 3

As for those of u who have read the scripts might noticed that Mrs Pratchett had a major problem with her grammar...misusing the singular and plural case. She also had this thick Norwegian accent...The letter H was never to be heard coming out from her mouth..Things made worst...She is someone who is very loud and exasperating...Potraying Mrs Pratchett was really a tough job to do.

I was actually forced to play the role of Mrs Pratchett by Rumitha who were supposed to play that role originally...I was at first intended to be in the character of Thwaites....just screaming ouch..ouch...ouch...doesn't have to talk much...but all of them teamed up against me...and said since I'm the only guy...I have to play the part of Mrs Pratchett...swapping of gender..as if.

I do think the drama was a success regardless of the fact that my hands were trembling throughout the play. What is there to say, I am like that.nothing can be done to change it.I can detect when my hands are trembling but it seems like i can't do anything to make it stop...haha..Too nervous i guess...anxiety disorder.Haha!

The other groups did a great job...I have to give my greatest salutation to Shun Ling, she can really act.Congrats Shun Ling...Nanny+ Half-Sister+Form Teacher.

We were rewarded by our teacher,Miss Chan with a Norwegian food, red liquorice to be exact...Haha...my maiden bite...a strange cherry taste that tickled my taste buds...hurm...

Red Liquorice(Licorice)

Hope to have more fun in the classroom instead of just staring at books the whole week....

Paint Your Imagination

The reason why I came up with this post is that i was so mesmerized with the art that is now being put on show in the lobby of my College, KBU. The paintings on the walls just caught my attention the moment i lay my eyes on them.

Magnificent...Outstanding...Impressive...were the words that came up to my mind when i saw the work of art..Such an awe-inspiring fine art.Okay la..I am exaggerating...But I really think the paintings that the arts students have drawn marvelously and put it up for a display on the walls were really good...Their imagination on creating such a masterpiece has actually inspired me to maybe one day decorate the walls of my house with that kind of painting to create a magnum opus instead of just using normal paint and wallpaper.

They say if you can walk, you can dance. And if you can talk, you can sing. Likewise,if you can draw in a drawing block, you can paint the walls in your house...Haha..as if...But nothing is impossible right...hurm..

Enough with the mumbo jumbo...Let's see the paintings...
